Mission Educational Justice – looking for active students for summer semester 2023!

For the summer semester 2023 we are looking for interested students who want to help us with the organization, and also students who want to become tutors. Of course you can do both at the same time 😉
> If you would like to support us with the organization, you can choose one of the 3 areas:
– Communication: social media presence, designing advertising material, public relations and press, donations and fundraising & fun!
– Pupils: contact with social institutions and contact persons, supervision of the pupils & fun!
– Students: Contact with students, arranging tutoring pairs, organizing regular get-togethers & fun!
Students from various faculties are active in our team. Everyone finds a task they like!

> If you would like to volunteer as a tutor, we will find a student for you that matches the subjects and type of school that you specify when registering. We offer advice at all times and provide a WhatsApp or signal group in which you can exchange ideas with the other tutors.
We currently have 95 students working as tutors. We have 58 students in need of a tutor, most of whom are in elementary school or 7th grade. The subjects with the highest demand are German, math, English and French.

We also organize a get-together every 2 months for all students who work with us. The federal board offers workshops on topics such as German as a foreign language in private tuition, which our members can attend free of charge. Of course, we also issue a certificate of honorary office.

Have we sparked your interest? You can register via our website. There you will also find all further information!

The 9-Euro-Ticket is valid on 1 April – no joke!

You got it right: for all pupils and students, we, the Nürnberger Symphoniker, have a very special offer on 1st April: the 9-Euro-Ticket for our 18th symphonic concert! (valid from price category 2)

What Deutsche Bahn can do, we have been able to do for a long time!
The soloist of the evening is singer Antoinette Dennefeld, who will present you with Ravel’s Scheherazade THE ART OF TEMPTATION. On the podium you will experience the concentrated experience and masterly skills of our former chief conductor Jac van Steen, who will take you into the magical world of 1001 Nights with the Symphonic Suite by Rimsky-Korsakow.

But for us 1001 Nights is not enough, which is why we are adding another night to our concert programme: In composer Hawar Tawiq’s piece 1002, you’ll find out how the oriental fairy tales might continue. In our free concert introduction Auftakt! Konzert im Gespräch, you can meet Hawar Tawiq in the foyer of the Meistersingerhalle at 7:15 pm and learn some interesting background information about the piece and the concert. Conductor Jac van Steen will also be part of the discussion.

So, if you want to experience a hot Arabian night in April, get your 9-Euro-Ticket directly from the webshop. (While stocks last, of course 😉)
Further information about the concert can be found here. Click on the webshop seating plan, select a seat from price category 2, and the 9-Euro-Ticket option will appear immediately.

We look forward to seeing you!

Your Nürnberger Symphoniker

PS: Unlike what you are used to from Deutsche Bahn, our 9-Euro-Ticket guarantees
– admission to the concert (no chance of overcrowding 😅)
– a reserved seat in the hall that is neither too hot nor too cold
– a punctual concert start (8:00 p.m.!)
– a concert program that also adheres to the (program) timetable

SEARCH for: (voluntary) workers (m/f/d) for events for young people

Hey there, we are currently looking for (voluntary) workers (m/f/d) for our events for children and youths (we can often pay expense allowance). Our organization – the Kreisjugendring Erlangen-Höchstadt (@kjr_erh on Instagram) – advocates for the interests of children and youths in Erlangen-Höchstadt and their right for participation. We also organize different events for which we are currently looking for (voluntary) workers (m/f/d).

One important part of our program are camps on different topics during the school holidays.

Many of our camps have an explicit focus on the education for sustainable development. One event with this focus is our “Summer Project Nature” at the beginning of the school summer holidays. This year it will be all about people´s life back then – today – and in the future. Link to a more precise explanation of the program.

During the summer holidays there will also be another events – like our camp in which non-disabled and disabled children will spend time together and will discover different things – also about the past, the present and the future. Link for further explanation here.

Sounds interesting to you? We would be very happy if new (voluntary) workers joined our team this year. For most of our events we can offer you an expense allowance (up to 60€/day). Furthermore, we can issue you a certification for your work. If wanted, you can also do a work placement for us.

In 2023 we are especially looking for male* (voluntary) workers.

If you want to be a part of our team, feel free to contact us via e-mail (info@kjr-erh.de) or phone (09131-8032512).

Information about the 200€ energy price allowance at FAU

The energy price allowance will soon be introduced for us students as well – but unfortunately hidden behind a lot of bureaucracy. To make it easier to keeping track of things and being prepared when the starting signal comes, we have summarized the most important information for you here. You can find a more detailed overview on the flyer for the application.

Update: It was just announced that the codes for the application are planned to be provided by FAU on March 15th.

What requirements do I have to fulfill?
Basically, you must have been enrolled at a university in Germany on December 1st, 2022 and have been residing in Germany in order to be able to apply for the allowance as a student. This also applies to international students. You can find out more about these requirements in the FAQ of the one-time payment.

What can I already prepare for the application?
You must create a bundID account to apply for the allowance. There you can either identify yourself already by using the online ID function (Perso/eID) or ELSTER certificate, or only create an account for now and then use the PIN for identification that FAU will send us soon.

When will we get the codes for the application?
The Ministry (StMWK) will give the go-ahead to the universities as soon as the current testing phase in the various federal states can be completed and any problems that have arisen can be cleared up. At the moment, this is expected to happen at March 15th the lastest. In the meantime, the FAU is preparing a circular email and an information page, which can go live along with the access codes and the PINs for the bundID at the same time.

Where can I get the codes for the application?
FAU will make the personal access codes and PINs for bundID available on campo as soon as it gets the go-ahead from the Ministry. You will find out exactly where they can be found in the circular email that will be sent out or on the information pages that are already being prepared.

By the way:
– The one-time payment of 200 euros is tax-free and is not offset against other social benefits.
– You are also entitled to the one-off payment if you have already received an energy allowance as an employee in September 2022.
– You also have a claim if you recently received other allowances as a BAföG recipient.
