Introduction of the university groups of the TechFak

A new semester is coming up and for some of you it’s your first semester
at FAU. But no matter what semester you’re in, a great way to get to
know other students and have cool experiences is through university
groups! We offer everything a student needs to survive, from a wide
range of activities, opportunities and chances to a great atmosphere and
amazing people. That’s why we advise you: just drop by our introduction
event at the Rote Platz on the 19th and 20th of April between 10am and
4pm or go directly to a meeting of the university group of your choice.

Innovation Award Visitor Safety

For the first time, the German Expert Council on Visitor Safety (DEB) is offering a promotional award. The DEB Federal Innovation Award is endowed with 3,500 euros. Students from all universities in Germany can submit bachelor’s or master’s theses, reports on practical semesters, term papers, and projects that demonstrate sustainable, innovative and future-oriented approaches to solutions for visitor safety in Germany.

A seven-member jury will review the papers and invite the students with the best three papers to the nationwide expert meeting on visitor safety in Berlin on November 6, 2023. The distinguished jury consists of Prof. Dr. Ariane Bagusat (Professor of General Business Administration, esp. Sponsoring and Event Management at Ostfalia – University of Applied Sciences), Dr. Wolfgang Friedel (Engineer for Security Technology, Fire Protection), Ralf-Richard Kenter (Dipl.- Ing. (FH), Dipl. Wirt.-Ing. (FH)), Marc Mundstock (Managing Director AXICA Kongress- und Tagungszentrum, Chairman Berlin Event Network (BEN)) as well as DEB board members Olaf Jastrob (1st Chairman), Holger Gerdes (Deputy Chairman) and Ulf Weidmann (Marketing Director).
The first-place winner receives 2,000 euros, second place 1,000 euros and third place 500 euros. Students can send their work by mail to DEB (vorstand@expertenrat-besuchersicherheit.de) until July 31, 2023.

Election proposals sought for the university election

You want to have a say when it comes to the university? Do you want to involve yourself for students? You know people who also want to participate? Then make a list for the university election!

This year’s university elections will take place from June 20-27. Whether it’s at the faculty level or the Student Convention, your involvement is needed.

How do I form an election list?
1. Each person who wants to be on your list fills out a consent form.

2. each person who wants to be on your list is added to the list on the election proposal form.

3. 10 (Convention) or 5 (FSV) signatures of supporters (can also be people from the election list) must be on your election proposal form.

4. the consent forms and the election proposal form have to be submitted to the election office of the (Schlossplatz 4, room 2.027 and 2.029) from April 27th until May 10th, 4pm.
