News from the Stuve
Since the last newsletter, two meetings of the student convention took place. Among other topics, we dealt with the issue of the 49 € ticket - due to the uncertain start date, there is still a need for further clarification. We also re-elected Büşra Başol into the Speaker's Council. She was already part of the Council in the last term and would like to support it until the end of the year. However, this also means we will have to fill this position again in January. If you are interested in the Speaker's Council and want to learn more about it, please feel free to contact us (
stuve-sprat@fau.de)! All students at FAU can apply. It is not necessary to be in an elected committee position to do so. If you are interested in working in one of the departments of the Stuve, you are also welcome to contact us (stuve-sprat@fau.de). A list of departments can be found at

There is an acute problem regarding the 49€ ticket from the federal government. Since it would be cheaper and more attractive than our current semester ticket, we are considering suspending the semester ticket for the summer so that students can switch to the 49€ ticket. This decision has to be made at the beginning of January, which is very difficult for us because the exact start date for the 49€ ticket is still unclear.
If the semester ticket is suspended in the summer semester, there is a risk of a gap where students will have to pay up to 235€ for a monthly ticket before a cheaper alternative is available. If the semester ticket is continued normally, there will be additional costs for everyone.
Since there is no reliable information yet, we are putting pressure on politicians and writing to members of parliament. If this topic is important to you and you would like to get involved, please contact our working group at hauptorga@semesterticket.org.
At the beginning of December we met with the mayor of Erlangen, Florian Janik. The focus of the conversation was, among other things, the explosive housing situation in Erlangen and mobility in and around Erlangen. The mayor pointed out the clinic line, which is free of charge for everyone. We also met with our chancellor (of FAU) to exchange ideas on construction topics. One piece of good news is that the renovation of the anatomy can start soon, once several positions in the Erlangen building department have been filled.
