Dear fellow students,

Hopefully the first batch of exams is already successfully over and you have some time to catch your breath before the next ones :) In any case, all the best, you can do it!

Despite the exams and the end of lectures, we were active for you as usual, more details in the Stuve News.

Best regards

News from the Stuve

Even during the lecture-free period, the Stuve has a lot to do - although we also try to enjoy the somewhat quieter time :)

At the December meeting we added a paragraph for working groups and departments to the Convention's rules of procedure, which of course also entailed a lot of work - and still does. At the last meeting we were already able to confirm a few speakers, and more AKs and Refs are on the agenda for the following meeting.

The campaign for the StUB will also be a big topic for the Stuve - we already tackled the topic at the last meeting of the studentischer Konvent. Guests from official and supporting committees gave us basic information and introductions to the campaign, which will culminate on the day of the EU elections with the referendum on the next implementation phase of the tram. As Stuve, we adopted a position a long time ago in which we clearly positioned ourselves for the construction of the Stadt-Umland-Bahn, and we can now implement this with a lot of support.

Active for green public transport - Studis Pro StUB needs your help

In our last newsletter, we announced that a vote on the urban-regional railway in Erlangen would be held on 9 of June in parallel with the European elections. The extension of the tram from Nuremberg along the B4 through Erlangen and to Herzogenaurach is intended to connect the three cities every 10 minutes in future, shift 47 million car kilometres from road to rail every year and make an important contribution to combating the climate crisis. However, there are also strong opposing voices trying to prevent this project. Similar projects have already failed in other cities due to such a vote.

That's why we need your help. The Stuve is campaigning for a positive outcome to the vote. If you are interested, please join our Whatsapp group at fsv.tf/studisprostub [als Link setzen] Every help counts! Further information on the STUB can be found at stadtumlandbahn.de.

Fancy a cool & flexible job? We want you!

We, the Kinderkulturbüro, are looking for employees for the vacation program of the city of Erlangen. Every year we offer various activities for children and teenagers during the easter and summer vacations. Your tasks would be the supervision of day trips, childcare offers and workshops with children aged 6 to 15 years. In return, the city of Erlangen pays vacation program employees a fair salary (€16/hour). There is also an exciting program and a great team of colleagues. You can determine your own working hours and combine them perfectly with your studies! You must be at least 18 years old, speak fluent German, enjoy working with children and preferably have experience in this field. We look forward to meeting you!

Citizens´ Initiative – Preserve Housing in Erlangen

The citizens’ petition “Wohnraum erhalten” (“Preserve housing”) is campaigning for the preservation of housing and residential homes around the University Hospital in Erlangen’s city center, which are at risk due to the construction plans of the University Hospital and the city and are to be converted into offices. With a signature everyone can make his mark for affordable housing and against the destruction of lliving space in Erlangen. Erlangen needs more living space to counter the housing shortage among students.

All EU citizens who are of legal age and reside in Erlangen may sign the petition. All collection points and further information can be found at this link. Get active and join us on March 26th in Sophienstr. 94.
