Space Gene – a new initiative for space enthusiasts

Space Gene is a student initiative at FAU that aims at encouraging students and public to participate in Space Tech. Our goal is to democratize space exploration, travel, and colonization.
 
We welcome students from diverse backgrounds, who are interested in space and want to support the development of space technologies and the business ecosystem. Through our projects and events, we aim at popularizing space tech and helping students to find job opportunities in this area, create their own projects and startups, exchange insights and experience, and just have fun! Space is in our genes, therefore we are here to make your dreams about space come true!

We are an initiative that aims to contribute to more equal education and opportunities in the German education system by providing free tutoring for children from low-income and educationally disadvantaged families.

Zoom chat: Studying with a disability

Studying can present a wide range of challenges for people with physical and mental disabilities. In a relaxed atmosphere, the Zoom chat on 22 April at 4 p.m. will provide a digital space for networking and exchanging tips and tricks about studying with disabilities. The chat takes place regularly on every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. The link to the Zoom chat is available on the website of the Office for Gender and Diversity here.

Climate budget of the city of Erlangen – up to 5.000€

 
The climate budget of the city of Erlangen is entering the second round. Until 1st of May initiatives and citizens from Erlangen can apply for funding through the climate budget.
The only conditions: It must be about climate protection (also biodiversity) and serve the general public (so e.g. not private PV system).

eSports Erlangen: Proving Grounds Nürnberg 2022

It’s finally that time again. Proving Grounds Nürnberg 2022 is just around the corner!

We want to celebrate the start of the new semester with you and invite you to participate in the biggest League of Legends eSports tournament at FAU!

We as the Student Initiatives eSports Erlangen have the goal to connect students with a passion for gaming and eSports. By doing so, we want to do our part to bring more diversity to university life in the region, even outside of the lecture schedule.

From 14.05. – 15.05. we start again with you on the Summoner’s Rift. In addition to a 300€ prize pool, we are super excited to entertain you with live broadcast on Twitch. 4 games Saturday, 4 games Sunday followed by a best of 3 final for the top 2 teams. Start of each game is at 12pm.

For all those who do not want to jump directly into the fray themselves, we offer a spectacular live stream like last year. The event will start on 14.05.2022 at 12 o’clock. There we will present the teams, broadcast the games and start the final matchday on 15.05.2022 from 12 o’clock. The weekend will then be rounded off with the grand final and the announcement of the tournament winners.
