News from the Stuve

The new semester has begun and with it, our committees have slowly come out of their summer slump. With numerous events for first-year students, but also general events for all students, life is coming back to the university and thus, of course, also to the Stuve.

On Monday, for example, there was already the big freshman orientation, where we were able to introduce you to the Stuve with a few committees and university groups. We hope that the other freshman events were also able to pick you up from your departments and that you were able to make friends with your fellow students.

But the Stuve is also very busy outside of freshman planning. In the last few weeks, for example, the old Sprat met with the president one last time to address current problems and possibly resolve them.

In the short term, the topic of exam registrations on campo had to be addressed, since due to an error on the part of the platform, exam registrations were not carried out in some cases (more on this in the related post). Despite the exchange with the examination office and the president, the university, unfortunately, did not offer a solution to the problem, except to correct the error for the future and to offer to put the head of the examination office, Mr. Purr, in the CC when sending mails to the administrators. We are sorry that the students now have to bear the responsibility for this error, but are happy to offer to put us in the CC as well to avoid that individual errors are not corrected.

Continuing in the spirit of talking with the university leadership, next week we will have our first jour fixe with Vice President People Andreas Hirsch to talk about topics such as the introduction of period products and body-and-mind spaces.

Clothing swap party… instead of a shopping spree!

On Saturday, October 22, we are organizing a clothing swap party together with the Umsonstladen.

Here you can exchange all your mis-buys from your closet for new treasures – which will then become indispensable favorite pieces. Join in & close the loop for your discarded clothes. Sustainability is that easy!

Bring your friends and a maximum of 7 pieces of clothing, accessories or shoes in good condition and exchange them for new favorites! (No underwear or children’s clothing please). 👗🩳👑

Weather permitting, you’ll find refreshing lemonade in the courtyard – perfect for enjoying the afternoon while listening to relaxing music.

Come by – we look forward to seeing you!🎉

Error cancelling exam registration on Campo

If you have tried to deregister from a (first) exam in the last few months, you should now check if this really happened or if you got a failed attempt entered instead.

Until recently, when you deregistered from an exam at campo, the “Cancel registration” button of the privacy policy canceled the deregistration attempt instead of confirming the deregistration. If you tried to deregister from the exam via this button according to the exam regulations, check if you were actually deregistered or if a failed attempt was entered for you.

If a failed attempt is displayed, contact the respective administrators of your study program via email. Put the Sprat (stuve-sprat@fau.de) and Thomas Purr (thomas.purr@fau.de) into the CC, so that no cases are lost in the chaos. If there are problems or you have further questions, you can also contact us via our suggestion box.

For your Information:
Most examination regulations require you to cancel your registration at least 3 workdays prior to the exam and do not allow stepping back from a repeat exam.

Invitation to our job fair!

How do I handle my body disability in my application? Which possibilities are existing in and out of FAU for helping and providing advices? Which rights do I have while transition to labour market and at labour itself? How can I build a helpful network?

Those questions get answered in our online event „Studium und dann? Berufseinstieg mit Beeinträchtigung“ at 08th November at 09:00 AM.
At the beginning FAU-internal as well as extern partners will provide helpful information about the transition to labour market as an disabled student. Afterwards different employers from Nuremberg and the region nearby will present their companies. After a short break the students can meet in separate meeting rooms with each employer for asking their indiviudal questions.
The target group are students as well as postgraduates who are disabled or interested in the topic.

The event is for free. The registration must be done until 27th October at following link: https://www.studon.fau.de/crs4670835.html
