Success of the student representatives: Fourth exam attempt at FAU

After more than 1.5 years of tireless efforts by (among others) the Students Teaching and Studies Division, we can now officially tell you about our major breakthrough for improved study conditions at FAU: The fourth exam attempt is coming!

Our efforts have paid off and are reflected in the fact that, from next semester, it will be possible to retake exams 3 times instead of just 2. You can also look forward to another improvement as part of this reform: compulsory registration for repeat exams will be abolished without replacement! From next semester, you will be able to choose when you want to retake an exam that you have failed.

However, there will be a few exceptions to the increase in examination attempts (e.g. examinations in the GOP and final theses are not affected). You can find more detailed and official information at: https://www.fau.de/education/beratungs-und-servicestellen/pruefungsaemter/#collapse_9

Of course, we will also keep you up to date here!

We are extremely pleased that our work to sustainably improve the study conditions at FAU has paid off! If you can also imagine fighting for appropriate study conditions for over 40,000 students, then feel free to drop by our Department for Teaching and Studies (just send an email to stuve-lust@fau.de). We are a small group of students from all faculties who meet every few weeks to discuss all the things that are currently going badly at the university and how we can best improve them. We are very happy about additional input 🙂
