The FAU is looking for student ambassadors

Job Description

The FAU Press and Communications Office is looking for student ambassadors to introduce FAU to prospective students.
Are you excited about your studies at FAU and enthusiastic about your university life? Then become a student ambassador and actively share your enthusiasm and everything you need to know about studying at FAU with students.
For example, you can visit high schools in the Nuremberg metropolitan region. Or you can create and share your own social media posts and answer questions online.
You share your personal experiences with your decision to study and your path to studying at FAU and chat with prospective students about the content of your studies and your university life in Erlangen and Nuremberg.
As student ambassadors, you will meet prospective students at appointments at high schools and education fairs in the Nuremberg metropolitan region, as well as online on social media and in Zoom lectures.
Your own ideas for getting in touch with students are also welcome!

Tasks:
Exchange with prospective students at eye level
Representing FAU and your own subject at student and education fairs as well as other study orientation events
Visiting high schools, for example to support W-/P seminars
Collaboration in the development of new concepts for addressing target groups
Maintaining the social media channels of the study ambassadors
Weekly participation in planning meetings

Necessary qualifications:
Enthusiasm for your studies and FAU, enrollment at FAU.
Friendly, communicative demeanor and interest in working with students
Willingness to travel within the metropolitan region (travel expenses will be reimbursed) and commitment for at least 2 semesters
Willingness to work weekends
Social media affinity
Enjoy working independently with a lot of creative freedom
German language skills desirable, further language skills advantageous

Our offer:
Varied work with flexible working hours
Remuneration via fee-based contract
Equipment with FAU textiles from the FAU store

Additional information:
The position is limited until 1.10.2023, extension is possible.
It is a part-time position, the monthly number of hours is variable and depends on the number of assignments
Working hours according to agreement

Zoom chat: Studying with a disability

Studying can present a wide range of challenges for people with physical, mental and chronic disabilities and illnesses. You can talk about this in a relaxed atmosphere during a Zoom chat.

Studying can present a wide range of challenges for people with physical, mental and chronical disabilities and illnesses. In a relaxed atmosphere, the Zoom chat on 10. March and 24. March 2023 at 4 p.m. will provide a digital space for networking and exchanging tips and tricks about studying with disabilities. The chat takes place regularly on every 2nd Friday.

Open Call: The Urban League

Are you passionate about your city? Are you convinced that urban development can work differently? Are you between 17 and 27 years old? Do you want to develop strategies to promote creative participation together with 25 other committed city makers?

Then apply by March 30, 2023 and become part of the Urban League!

The Urban League is based at the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB). The goal of the Urban League is to strengthen the participation of young adults in urban development.

In workshops, discussions and lectures during 18 months we want to exchange ideas about the future of cities and bring fresh impulses from your project work into a nationwide dialogue.

The kick-off of the second year of the Urban League will take place in mid-June in Berlin.

Virtual Long Night of Writing on March 2, 2023

The worldwide campaign “The Long Night Against Procrastination″ is dedicated to academic writing once a year – always on the first Thursday in March.
The University Library is participating in this action since 2017 and invites you to this event under the customized moniker “Long Night of Writing”.
The next Long Night of Writing will take place in virtual form on March 2, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
There are a few new additions to the program, such as an offer from FSV Phil (“Trick 17: Tipps von Studi zu Studi”) or from FAUgesund, but also “exotic” courses on writing applications (Career Service).
