The economic situation is still very tense for many students due to the pandemic. Due to the persistently difficult general conditions, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research has reinstated the interim financial aid for students in pandemic-related difficulties since November 20 and until the end of the winter semester 20/21, after the aid was initially not extended. As before, the aid will be administered by the local Student Union.
Beyond that the entrance conditions to the support were defined slightly broader:
- The pandemic emergency can now also be fulfilled by a self-declaration if the pandemic-related termination of the previous employment relationship or the required two written rejections of at least two job applications cannot be fulfilled.
- Only the bank account statements from the previous month and the current month up to the day before the application is submitted must be uploaded, no longer the bank account statements since February.
